2019 Holiday House Tour Information

Ticket Pick Up / Will Call Information

Advanced tickets, purchased through Eventbrite as well as in person, must be redeemed for a Holiday Tour Ticket Booklet before visiting any of the homes. Ticket booklets (containing information about each house, as well as a map of the tour area) will be available for pick up outside the Andrews Cottage on the grounds at the Center for Human Science (219C McCauley Street) beginning at 11:30am on Saturday, December 7. A limited number of same-day tickets will also be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.

The town of Chapel Hill is offering free parking throughout the downtown area on Saturday, December 7, 2019. The State Employees’ Credit Union on Pittsboro Street has graciously offered tour guests free parking in their lot. Additionally, there will be some available parking at the Center for Human Science. Look for “PCH Tour Parking” signs posted near both of the entrances to the CHS grounds off on the south side of McCauley Street to take advantage of those spots (first come, first served).

NOTE: If you park in the SECU lot, look for signs near the back fence and follow the footpath to the CHS grounds (properties are directly adjacent to one another). You are, of course, also free to walk around following the sidewalk on McCauley Street.

Restrooms are available in the Center for Human Science community building (219 McCauley Street, the white house with a large back deck next to the Andrews Cottage). In addition to bathrooms, there is a dining area inside where guests can grab a cup of coffee, tea or a holiday sweet treat to help you refuel during the tour. There is also a lovely living room and sitting area for anyone who wants to warm up inside or take a short break. Restrooms are also available at the Horace Williams House, but we ask that guests refrain from asking to use the facilities in any of the featured tour homes.

As the tour winds down, please join us for a “wine & cheese reception” (featuring a mix of sweet and savory light bites and various beverages for all ages) at the Horace Williams House. The reception will begin around 4 or 4:30pm, but feel free to stop by any time from 12noon on and check out the lovely handmade wares on display (and on sale!), crafted by members of the Chapel Hill Woodturners.

Please exercise caution as you travel along the tour route. Although this neighborhood is a pedestrian-friendly zone, we ask that you please stay on the sidewalks and avoid walking in the road as much as possible. There is one stretch of the tour on W. University Drive where there are not any sidewalks. PCH will have posted signs alerting drivers to increased foot traffic in the area, but please remember to be careful when crossing the street or walking in the road as you move from one house to the next.
