Internships

Preservation Chapel Hill believes in the mentorship of young people
in our community, so we offer an internship program for
undergraduate and graduate students focused on skill development,
job traning, and building a professional network.
​Preservation Chapel Hill provides internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. Our internship experience includes:
  • Professional setting doing real-world projects in Chapel Hill and the surrounding communities

  • Field trips to historic sites, museums, archives, and organizations to learn more about the many aspects of public history and nonprofit administration

  • Workshops on resume building, graphic design, oral history techniques, architecture, and other topics

  • Public presentations talking about projects and experiences as an intern

  • College credit is available according to the specifications of your university

How to Apply:

Internship applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Interns are expected to wolunteer six hours during the academic year and twelve hours during the summer months. Submit the application form, cover letter outlining how an internship fits into your career goals and identifying your particular areas of interest, resume, and two professional references.
