ARTIST'S RECEPTION
Sunday, June 1, 2025
from 2 to 4 pm

Preservation Chapel Hill at Horace Williams House is pleased to welcome Jerstin Crosby as its June exhibiting artist. The artist’s process begins with geometric forms, which, through the course of being created, transform into the portrayal of recognizable moments in the figure’s life and surroundings. This, the artist states, “is an intuitive approach allowing for moments of humor, lightness and poetic symmetry.” A deeper message in these paintings and sculptural forms of fractured figures and objects is the artist’s use of the partial figure and splintered stories to emphasize our attention-scattered surroundings and our search for authenticity in our current fractured settings. The artist is an MFA graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill who has exhibited widely, including at CAM Raleigh and the Print Center in NYC. He is currently in a year-long mentorship program through the NYC Crit Club’s Canopy Program.
Further details about the exhibition and viewing, on Fridays from 10 - 4, and by appointment, is available on www.preservationchapelhill.org.
